A key idea of the Green by Design® initiative is for each employee to be aware of and to practice the three Rs: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

Here are some of the ways we have identified to put these principles to work:

Reducing paper consumption and waste has an immediate effect on the environment. That’s why Lotus Professional® brand developed solutions such as enMotion®, SmartOne® , Reflex®, and JustOne® dispensers that help reduce paper consumption and waste by encouraging users to take just the paper they need.

However , it’s more than designing innovative dispensers that help reduce waste to minimize our environmental impact. We are also working on reducing the amount of resources consumed without compromising product quality; from energy and water consumption to packaging & transportation, Lotus Professional® teams are committed to developing  innovative and efficient solutions  that are environmentally conscious.

Besides having a number of wiper products that are designed to be reused, Lotus Professional® brand finds innovative ways to reuse the by-products of the papermaking process for production and packaging. All mills continuously strive for maximal recycling, reducing the need to use natural resources by adding value to  waste. We recycle and reuse water in our mills, and the heat generated throughout the paper making process is reused.

In addition, some of our by-products are used to help make grass grow, build roads and provide a strong foundation for highways.

Recycling of waste paper in our mills  is the main source of fibre supply. In fact, more than 75 percent of Lotus Professional® paper production is made from recycled fibres. And several products across Europe, including SmartOne® toilet tissue, are produced from 100 percent recycled fibre.

Thus without sacrificing our product quality: Lotus Professional® recycled towel, tissue, napkin and wiper products maintain high performance, softness and brightness.
